Get ready for the seventh annual Beginner Bee School on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The format is not changing, but since the price of some building supplies have dropped, I can reduce the price back to $60.00. Children under 15, if attending with a paid adult are still free. If you will have a child attend, type a message in the box above the buy now button . The paypal link (top item on the right) may not show up on mobile devices. Scroll down and click "Web Version"
I am using my business paypal account instead of Eventbrite, I can provide a better refund policy. If you contact me on or before February 23, I can issue a full refund. After that date there will be a $10.00 charge. Please feel free to contact me at dcsgadgets@gmail.com
It may take me a day or so to process registrations. Please be patient.
Check out the video commercial here; it’s from two years ago but the same stuff. Bee School Commercial
Ticket sales is limited to 60 people so sign up early.
Bee school begins with a presentation detailing the Florida Department of Agriculture rules concerning beekeepers.
And information on how to register as a beekeeper.
After this, we will split into two groups.
One group will spend two hours in the apiary, the second group will build a five frame medium nuc box with frames. Yours to take home.
You can also spin out honey and fill a 12 oz bear. Also yours to take home.
There will be some displays on the patio, a 10 frame box with 14 weighted bars. All 14 bars weigh just over 100 pounds, about a 10 frame deep. By varying the number of bars, one can get an idea of what different size boxes full of honey will weigh.
Lunch will be Pollo Tropical. During lunch there will be one or two presentations.
After lunch, the groups will trade places.
Bee school will be from 9:00 am till about 4:00 pm. Check in will begin at 8:00.
We do not have enough protective equipment for all attendees. A minimum requirement to work in the apiary is a veil, long sleeves and long pants. Please bring your own equipment, if you have it. All attendees will also be required to sign a hold harmless agreement.
If you know that you have bee allergies, you must have full protective equipment and an epi-pen.
Bee School is at 343 Nail ST NE Palm Bay FL. Exit 176 from I-95.
