South Brevard Beekeepers Bee School 2023

Already we are on our 4th annual Bee School. WOW!  Again, and as I intend for as long as possible, the South Brevard Beekeepers beginner Bee School will be on the last Saturday of February. Which will be Feb. 25, 2023. For the most part our format will not change. There is unfortunately an increase in the cost this year. Tickets are $60.00, children under 15, if attending with a paid adult are free. Just make a note in the special instructions area at Paypal.

I have removed the paypal link for this event, which is tomorrow.  If you still wish to attend, call me. 321 506 4652.

I am using my business paypal account instead of Eventbrite, partly because Eventbrite has shown themselves to be "deep state", and also so I can provide a better refund policy.  If you contact me on or before February 21, I can issue a full refund. After that date there will be a $10.00 charge.  Please feel free to contact me at dcsgadgets@gmail.com

At Bee School you will build your own 5 frame medium nuc box with frames, and extract honey and fill a 12 oz bear.

You will spend approximately two hours in the apiary, learning how to light and keep a smoker burning and get your hands inside of bee hives.

Bee school will be from 9:00 am till about 4:00 pm. Check in will begin at 8:00.

Lunch will be provided. As of this time I am negotiating with either Publix for subs, or Pollo Tropical. If you have specific dietary needs please let me know and I will see what can be done.

There may be a presentation on making backyard queens.

There will be a representative from the University of Florida Bee Lab, extension services.

To let us know what things are happening at the lab.

There will be a  guest speaker during the lunch break, from the Florida State Beekeepers Association.

We do not have enough protective equipment for all attendees. A minimum requirement to work in the apiary is a veil, long sleeves and long pants. Please bring your own equipment.  All attendees will also be required to sign a hold harmless agreement.

If you know that you have bee allergies, you must have full protective equipment and an epi-pen.

Bee School is located at Christian Life Church.
